Travel back through time, taste 400-year-old snow!

Wilcox Creek Campground
In the heart of the Canadian Rockies, on the spectacular border of Banff and Jasper National Parks, lies one of Canada's most stunning natural treasures: the Columbia Icefield.

One of the largest accumulations of ice and snow south of the Arctic Circle, it covers an area of nearly 325 square kilometres (202 square miles), sometimes reaching a depth of 300-360 metres (984-1181 feet). The continuous accumulation of snow feeds eight major glaciers and its meltwater trickles into streams and becomes mighty rivers that pour into the Arctic, Atlantic, and Pacific oceans.

Take a virtual tour now. The real deal will be waiting for you when you get there. And oh, yes, there are RV parks and campgrounds nearby, complete with strolling elk, curious bears and the most magnificent nightly field of stars that ever took your breath away.
